Samantha Fields has been playing basketball since third grade, and she is one of only two freshman on the NHS Girls basketball team.
"Sometimes it’s overwhelming,” she said, of balancing school and sports. “But I get through it. They expect a lot out of me.”
Samantha also runs track and cross country, and she has after school practice from 3 to 5 p.m. each day. She also plays city league basketball.
“My biggest inspiration is Steph Curry,” she said. “He was the smallest kid on his team, but look at his success.”
Samantha previously attended Chireno ISD and Mike Moses Middle School. Her favorite subject is Reading.
